In the space of nine albums, Enthroned have steadily progressed to reach a level of quality that has nothing to envy from other, far more prestigious names... Better still: where some spearheads of the genre run out of steam or go astray, our little Belgians remain true to themselves and release Sovereigns, the tenth album in their discography, the album of consecration for the band. Enthroned have succeeded in selecting their ingredients, combining them in such a way that none predominates over the other, and ultimately serving up a perfectly balanced album that combines brutality, atmosphere and a touch of melody in a mad black saraband.
